I have 650 that I use for my straylining from rocks, and a smaller 500 that I think would be pretty ideal to use from yak (probs spool with 6kg mono, possibly 8kg) Web2 Jun 2008 · One of the real strenghts of an Alvey (IMO) is having the line pass over your finger whilst retrieving, and Braid would make this a very dangerous practice.
